When will the OBC appointment letter come in Madhya Pradesh

When will the OBC appointment letter come in Madhya Pradesh

Claims are from letters, lawyers and news reports. A final court order is a separate document. Not legal advice. 3 October 2026.

In Madhya Pradesh, the appointment letter for a held OBC post arrives when the recruiting board or the department uploads an order against that roll number. As of 3 October 2026, no public department order was found that gives one date for every held candidate. A date moving on WhatsApp is not an order.

The 87 percent letter and the 13 percent letter are not the same

Before 2019, Madhya Pradesh kept OBC reservation at 14 percent. The Kamal Nath government raised it to 27. Petitions followed. Recruitment did not stop. The state used an 87:13 split. Appointments moved on 87 percent of posts. The 13 percent tied to the extra quota stayed on hold. Reports mention a September 2022 general-administration circular and a 4 August 2023 interim order. Neither line is a final judgment. The split is explained in what the 87:13 formula is.

The wait is described as starting in 2022

On 22 September 2026 Rahul Gandhi wrote to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The letter cited the Chhatron Ki Goonj programme in Indore. It said candidates selected for the 13 percent held posts had been waiting for appointment letters since 2022, after clearing the exam and the selection process. That is a demand in a letter, not a board order. The letter has its own page: Rahul Gandhi’s letter to Mohan Yadav.

Reports of the January 2025 hearing do not match

After the Jabalpur bench hearing of 28-29 January 2025, newspapers did not tell the same story. The Times of India wrote that the bench dismissed petitions opposing the 87:13 formula and kept the stay on the rise to 27 percent. The Free Press Journal headline said the formula was rejected and the way was clear for 27 percent. Lawyer Rameshwar Singh Thakur was quoted saying the 4 August 2023 petition had been dismissed and appointments on held posts would start. Two headlines are not one order. A candidate should read the order or the department notification.

An October 2025 recruitment report counted 942 held posts in 28 MPPSC exams and 9,275 in 26 employee-selection-board exams. The sum is a little over ten thousand. That is a newspaper tally, not a court count. Do not merge it with slogans that put the pending posts in the lakhs. The hold list is covered in the MPPSC 13 percent hold result.

A statement that 27 percent will come is not the letter

Statements from the government side have said the state is ready to give 27 percent. In September 2026 the letter and the street demand were still about appointment letters. A statement and a letter on a roll number are different things. Related pages: is 27 percent in force and the 50 percent ceiling.

Advice:

Match the roll number on MPPSC, the employee selection board, or the department that ran the exam. A name on the hold list is not an appointment letter. A letter already issued on the 87 percent side is not the letter for the 13 percent hold. A WhatsApp date and a forward are not orders. The letter comes on the same portal as the result.
