Is 27 percent OBC reservation in force in Madhya Pradesh? As of 3 October 2026 the answer is this. The 2019 notification exists. Government recruitment is not running fully at 27. What happened in 2019
The state raised the OBC quota from 14 to 27. The notification is from 2019. Total reservation went past 50. 51 percent is an affidavit figure, not a census table. That is the question stuck in court. Going above the 50 percent limit needs special circumstances to be shown. The Indra Sawhney ruling is the line of that limit. The state’s affidavit is a claim about population. Not a final count.
On 19 February 2026 the Supreme Court sent the case back to the High Court. On 6 August 2026 Dainik Bhaskar wrote that the verdict was reserved. Reserved means the hearing happened, the order is not printed yet. Do not write reserved as a win or a loss.

4.87 lakh is a claim about held recruitment over eight years. The circular was reported on 29 September 2022. This is not a census figure. Not a roll-number list. Do not match your roll number to this number.
Who said what
Vishwas Sarang’s reply of 24 September 2026 is a news report. Not an appointment order. The letter between Rahul Gandhi and Mohan Yadav of 22 September 2026 is a demand, not an order. 4.87 lakh was not in the reports of that letter. The MPPSC 13 percent hold result is not cancelled. The department will give the letter when an order comes.
An OBC column in the census is a separate demand. A column counts population. 27 is the quota. A column being added will not open the held posts by itself. The Khunti dharna and Chalo Delhi on 1 November are column programmes. Madhya Pradesh recruitment will not open from them.
A simple example
There are 100 posts. Appointments are moving on 87. 13 are on hold. If your roll is on the 87 list, the path to a letter is a department order. If it is on the 13 list, it is on hold. Hold does not mean the name is cut. Open the advertisement. Whatever percent is written there for OBC, 14 or 27, that is what to take. Do not take a WhatsApp table.

How to read the advertisement
Open the OBC column in the advertisement. If it says 14, the old share is running. If it says 27, that recruitment has a 27 line. If it only says OBC, with no percent, download the notice PDF. If there is no PDF, do not treat 27 as in force. In a recruitment with the 13 percent hold, the result can show in two parts. One part moving, one on hold. Do not treat both as one letter.
The 50 percent limit and the 51 affidavit are not the same thing. The limit is the court’s line. 51 is a figure in the state’s paper. There is no OBC column in the census, so there is no final population number. The column demand does not open this hold. Khunti, the 6 October block and Delhi on 1 November are column programmes.
A counselling letter is there only when the department allots a seat. A name on the hold list is not counselling. If a group says the letter has come, open the portal. If the portal status is hold, the letter has not come. A link asking for money can be a fraud.
Do not match an old result to the new notice. Open the portal of the recruitment your roll number belongs to. The 2019 notice does not paste itself on every old exam. Treat a counselling date as real only when the department writes it. A march in yellow scarves does not open this letter.
The Centre’s 27 and the state’s 27 are not one rule. The Centre’s 27 is for a central job. The state’s 27 is the Madhya Pradesh notice. The EWS 10 is not OBC. Do not add the three into a new percent. Check the list for whether the name is on the state list.
