A separate OBC column in the caste census is the main demand. Vijay Wadettiwar said in Nagpur that without a population figure, representation and reservation become a harder question. He cited a 13 September 2026 Delhi meeting of about 65 organisations.
The plan
Taluka satyagraha was set for 2 October. District marches on 25 October. Chalo Delhi from 1 November. The size of 1 November is still for a joint meeting. An announcement is not a promise kept.
What a column means
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are counted. OBC groups say they have no separate box. A new box would not by itself rewrite a state list. The central list and the state list are two books.
Both sides
Groups say a quota sum is incomplete without a population count. A new notification granting a separate column was not public for this article on 3 October 2026. No court has given a final order on the demand. Call it a demand.
