The OBC satyagraha on 2 October was described as a taluka programme. It was not a national bandh. OBC means Other Backward Classes. Vijay Wadettiwar tied it to Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti. The demand was a separate OBC column on the census form. A list of how many talukas sat is not public. Writing that all of India sat would be wrong.
This is the position on 3 October 2026. The call was the organisation’s. Not a police order for a national shutdown. An old video is not a shutdown of the whole country.
What happened
The calendar came from the Nagpur meeting. On 20 September Wadettiwar told office-bearers from 11 Vidarbha districts three dates. 2 October taluka. 25 October district march. 1 November Chalo Delhi. The base was a meeting of about 65 organisations in Delhi on 13 September. The satyagraha in Bhandara on 2 October showed as a local shape. That was one place. A full attendance of 11 districts was not in these reports.
Schools, markets and trains did not shut that day because of the OBC call. Many places have a holiday on Gandhi Jayanti. That holiday is not this satyagraha. Do not make the two one bandh.

Do not mix the other crowd
On 2 October there was a separate Election Commission protest in Delhi and Mumbai. That is the voter-list and SIR story. Not the OBC column story. The two crowds are not one. Ranchi had a separate call for a march on the evening of 3 October, from Jaipal Singh Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk. That is not the result of 2 October. A number for how many people came out is not public.
Jharkhand’s local programmes of 5 to 7 October are separate. Torch rally on 5, road block on 6, dharna on 7. Districts Khunti, Gumla, Ranchi, Simdega, Lohardaga. That is not the 2 October satyagraha. The name is the Central Backward Classes Struggle Committee. Not Wadettiwar.
The demand is the same column
The form has a column for SC and ST. It does not have a separate column for OBC. In 2011 castes were written by hand, and the data could not be read. The demand is for a column and a drop-down. A column being added will not raise the Centre’s 27 percent by itself. 27 is the share in jobs and college. The satyagraha was not an order changing that share.
51 percent is Madhya Pradesh’s affidavit. 70 percent is the Hazaribagh morcha’s claim. Neither is a printed figure from the 2 October sitting. The creamy layer is 8 lakh. The satyagraha does not change that limit.
What is next
The next stage is the district march on 25 October. Chalo Delhi is 1 November. The size of 1 November was left to a joint meeting. Do not take a crowd in lakhs yet. A list of tickets and a permit was not printed.
Pages in the same line: what Wadettiwar is saying, Chalo Delhi, the 6 October block and the separate column.
A simple example
Thirty people sat in one taluka square. The video went viral. The forward said the country was shut. That is wrong. Thirty people are one taluka. Whether another taluka sat is not on a list. The other crowd in Delhi was the Election Commission one. Do not call it the OBC satyagraha. If Bhandara was seen, write Bhandara. Do not write all of Maharashtra shut.
The numbers here are the numbers in the reports. 2 October. Taluka level. 11 districts in the Vidarbha call. About 65 organisations on 13 September. No taluka count. No country-wide crowd number.
A candidate with a roll number should not read a result from this video. The result is on the board’s site. Check the state list for whether the name is on the OBC list. If a forward says the country was shut, ask for the taluka name. If there is no name, the video is not the whole country.
How to read the video
If a video shows a square, yellow scarves and some people, look for the place name. If there is no name, do not make it the country. A Bhandara video is Bhandara. The Nagpur call is Nagpur. The Delhi crowd can be the Election Commission one. Three videos are three stories. Do not paste one caption.
A taluka programme does not mean a sitting happened in every taluka. It means the call was at taluka level. An attendance list was not printed. So do not write that it happened in every taluka. Write only the taluka whose name is in a report.
This was not a recruitment day. The hold list in Madhya Pradesh, the Bengal certificate and the 68500 teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh did not open on this day. Do not match a roll number to the 2 October video. A paper is made at the tehsil. The column is added by a census office notice.
Before 25 October a local block can come in Jharkhand. That is not day two of the satyagraha. The committee is different. The date is different. Read the two posters apart.
Do not treat the Gandhi Jayanti holiday and this satyagraha as one. The holiday is the calendar’s. The satyagraha was the organisation’s call. A market-shutdown order was not in this call. A yellow scarf is a colour, not a crowd number. The next date is 25 October, not 2 October again.
Advice:
The plain point is this. The OBC satyagraha on 2 October was a taluka programme. The country was not shut. The demand was a separate column. A local shape was seen in Bhandara. A list of how many talukas sat is not public. The Election Commission crowd was separate. The next stage is the district march on 25 October. Do not take an old video as a national bandh. This programme will not give an appointment letter. Treat the column as added only when a government notice is visible.
