Who is calling Chalo Delhi on 1 November

Chalo Delhi on 1 November is the next big date of the OBC agitation. OBC means Other Backward Classes. Vijay Wadettiwar set this order in Nagpur on 19 September. He is a Congress MLA from Vidarbha. The base is a meeting of about 65 organisations in Delhi on 13 September 2026. The demand is a separate OBC column on the census form. The date is announced. The size and scale across the country are still to be fixed in a joint meeting. Writing a crowd in lakhs for 1 November is early.

This is the position on 3 October 2026. A list of tickets, a pandal and a permit was not in these reports. This is not an appointment letter for a recruitment.

Who is calling it

National Herald and The Times of India printed the Nagpur meeting. Wadettiwar told workers from 11 districts of Vidarbha that a separate column is the clear demand. If the population figure does not come out, the question of seats and reservation will get more tangled. Scholarships on time, and the OBC quota that exists now not being cut, were also in his line.

About 65 organisations were at the Delhi meeting of 13 September. The calendar came after that. Taluka satyagraha on 2 October. District marches on 25 October. Chalo Delhi on 1 November. The full shape of 1 November is to be fixed in a joint meeting. That is Wadettiwar’s own line. Not a fixed route and a fixed crowd.

Data poster for Chalo Delhi on 1 November. Date fixed, size not.
The date is 1 November. The size across the country is still for a joint meeting.

The demand is the column

The form has a column for SC and ST. It does not have a separate column for OBC. In 2011 castes were written by hand, and the data could not be read. So the demand is not for an empty space. It is for a column named OBC, and a drop-down. A drop-down means a list opens, and the person doing the count picks the caste from the central list or the state list.

The column and the reservation are not the same thing. At the Centre the OBC quota is 27 percent. A column being added will not raise 27 by itself. Once the number is clean, the government and the court have a figure. The 1 November march is not an order raising the quota.

What is not fixed

The date is fixed. A train quota, a pandal, a route and a permit were not printed in these reports. If WhatsApp says the whole country will reach Delhi, do not take it as the organisation’s fixed plan. On 20 September there was a separate OBC Mahasabha meeting at Constitution Club. Dharmendra Kushwaha said that if the column is not in before the next Parliament session, there will be a protest at Jantar Mantar. That line is a separate statement from the 1 November plan. Do not make the two one crowd.

The 6 October block call in Jharkhand is local. Khunti, Gumla, Ranchi, Simdega, Lohardaga. That is not a rehearsal for Chalo Delhi. The 7 October dharna is a local programme too.

This is not the letter story

The 27 percent held recruitment in Madhya Pradesh is another story. The letter there comes on a department order. The Kunbi certificate in Maharashtra is separate. The Bengal certificate case is separate. The 40 percent pass demand in Uttar Pradesh’s 68500 teacher recruitment is separate. The 1 November march will not change the result of any of these.

Pages in the same line: the separate column, what Wadettiwar is saying, today’s agitation and the 6 October block.

A simple example

Say a bus is announced from Nagpur. The date is 1 November. The seat list and the permit are not here yet. The announcement is of a march, not a confirmed ticket. Reaching Delhi is not the column being added. Treat the column as added only when a census office notice comes. Treat a crowd number as real only when an official count comes. Neither is here yet.

The numbers here are the numbers in the reports. 1 November. 13 September. About 65 organisations. 11 districts of Vidarbha. 2 October and 25 October. No crowd number. No ticket list.

A school or office holiday does not come from this call. Whether Delhi has a holiday on 1 November is a Delhi order. The march in your district is the 25 October programme, not the 1 November one.

What to make of that day

Check the calendar for whether 1 November is a Sunday. The call is for a march. A Delhi administration permit is a separate paper. If the permit is not printed, do not treat the route as fixed. Whether a bus leaves your district is something the local committee will say. The Nagpur call is not a bus from every district.

Keep the column demand and the reservation percent apart. At the Centre OBC is 27 percent. The creamy layer is 8 lakh. Neither changes because of this march. The march is a way to ask for a number. The census office will print the number. After it is printed, the quota talk can be new. It is not new yet.

If a forward shows a ticket QR or says the seat is confirmed, match the organisation’s name and the date. If the name is not there, do not pay. This article does not sell a ticket.

Advice:

The plain point is this. Chalo Delhi is called for 1 November. Vijay Wadettiwar is calling it, on the base of the meeting of about 65 organisations on 13 September. The demand is a separate OBC column in the census. The date is fixed. The size across the country is still for a joint meeting. Do not take a crowd in lakhs yet. When news of tickets and a permit comes, then look at the route. This march will not put an appointment letter on a roll number. Treat the column as added only when a government notice is visible.
