What did Vishwas Sarang say on Rahul Gandhi’s OBC letter

The spoken lines are from a news report. A final court order is a separate document. Not legal advice. 3 October 2026.

Vishwas Sarang hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s OBC letter. That is a news report from 24 September 2026. Navbharat Times quoted him saying the government is committed to 27 percent OBC reservation, that Congress did not argue the case properly in court, and that the Kamal Nath government committed the wrong of stopping the quota. He asked Rahul to read the letter verbatim on video, and said he would give a reward if Rahul did. That is a statement, not a recruiting-board order.

What the letter asked for

Rahul Gandhi wrote to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on 22 September 2026. The letter cited Chhatron Ki Goonj in Indore. It said candidates selected for the 13 percent held posts under the 87:13 split had been waiting for appointment letters since 2022. The demand was for letters. Sarang’s reply is the government’s side of that demand, not a date for the letters. The letter has its own page: Rahul Gandhi’s letter to Mohan Yadav.

A promise of 27 percent is not the same as 27 percent in force

The OBC share was raised from 14 to 27 in 2019, under the Kamal Nath government. Sarang’s charge is that the same government stopped it. Who raised it and who stopped it is a political claim. Reports say the increase was stayed in court, and recruitment moved on the 87:13 path. Thirteen percent stayed on hold. Hold does not mean cancelled. The reward challenge is not an order

The line about a reward for reading the letter is a press sentence. It does not open the hold list, and it does not put a letter on a roll number. The 50 percent ceiling case is not decided by this statement either. See the 50 percent ceiling and when the appointment letter comes.

Advice:

Do not treat Sarang’s statement or Rahul’s letter as an order. The letter for a held post comes on MPPSC, the employee selection board, or the department site, against the roll number. A reward challenge and a WhatsApp clip are not an appointment. A sentence about commitment to 27 percent is not a letter until an order is on the portal.
