The search for 27 percent OBC reservation in Madhya Pradesh is about jobs. In 2019 the Kamal Nath government raised it from 14 to 27. Petitions followed. The state used an 87:13 formula. Appointments went ahead on 87 percent. 13 percent stayed on hold. The General Administration circular is dated 29 September 2022.
The High Court
In January 2025 the Madhya Pradesh High Court upheld this interim arrangement. That is not a final win. The validity of 27 percent remained in case. In September 2026 Rahul Gandhi wrote to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav saying selected candidates had waited since 2022. A claim of 4.87 lakh pending posts did not hold, because the formula is from 2022, not from eight years.
