Freeze the January 2025 voter list is a demand of the Cockroach Janta Party and the opposition. As of 3 October 2026 there is no notification that the whole country’s roll was frozen at January 2025. A demand is not an order.
Why the demand exists
Protesters say the post-SIR roll was tampered with, so go back to January 2025. Dipke asked for the 2025 list to be frozen. Rahul and Mamata have also spoken of the pre-SIR roll. The Commission says the roll is a living record. The dead and duplicates go. Eligible names come back. The 2 October drive points that way.
