Editorial update: 10 October 2026. This is a manually updated report, not a real-time service dashboard. Morning restrictions are identified as earlier reports; they do not establish the situation at every location this evening.
Is all of Delhi closed on 10 October 2026?
Delhi’s October 10 protest-related restrictions have created several different questions: whether markets are open, whether a school has changed its schedule, whether a Metro gate can be used and whether mobile data is available. Those questions need separate answers. The reporting checked for this article does not establish a single blanket order closing every service across the capital.
The Hindi companion article contains the background and service-specific sources. This English version explains the same distinctions, with links that let readers check the organisation responsible for their destination. A business advisory, a transport restriction and a school’s own message are different types of information. Their scope should not be silently widened.
Connaught Place shops, offices and restaurants
The Indian Express reported an NDTA advisory asking Connaught Place establishments to remain closed on October 10 as a precaution. This is information about Connaught Place and the establishments covered by that advisory, not evidence that every Delhi market has closed. For an appointment or collection, contact the particular business before travelling.
A shop may also make its own arrangements because of staff access or local conditions. Do not infer opening hours from yesterday’s listing alone. Equally, a closed shop in a video does not establish that all neighbouring businesses have the same schedule. For an essential purchase, check availability and the route independently.
Metro restrictions and access
Morning reporting described entry-exit restrictions affecting 45 Metro stations, replacing the earlier proposed figure of 57. Gate access, train movement and interchange are distinct. The historical reported window should not be treated as proof of an automatic reopening this evening. Check DMRC’s current announcements for your starting station, destination and connection.
If you are using New Delhi Metro station to reach a railway train, also check the railway booking separately. A Metro access restriction does not establish that your train is cancelled. Similarly, confirmation that a train is running does not tell you which Metro entrance or road approach is usable.
Schools, offices, hospitals and appointments
This page does not give a universal school-holiday announcement. Follow the message from your school, college, employer or examining body. Some institutions may change how they operate while others have their own instructions. A news report about one institution is not a substitute for your own notice.
For treatment or a time-sensitive appointment, contact the hospital or clinic about attendance and access. Do not interpret a headline about central Delhi as an instruction to skip necessary care. The relevant institution can explain its arrangements; this page cannot guarantee which entrance or road will be available.
Mobile internet: check the area and time
Reporting described a 24-hour mobile internet suspension around the Janpath–Kartavya Path crossing, beginning at 10 pm on October 9, within a reported four-kilometre radius. The report concerns a defined area and service. It does not establish a Delhi-wide shutdown of all communications.
If mobile data does not work, an internet-based payment or navigation service may also be unavailable on your device. Save essential details beforehand and check payment options with the destination. Do not assume that a restriction on mobile internet also suspends every voice call or every fixed connection.

Check information before acting
A screenshot can be useful, but it often leaves out the date, the issuing organisation and the conditions attached to a notice. Open the original announcement when possible. Read whether it describes a proposal, an instruction already in effect, a limited time window or a change that has since been withdrawn. A forwarded message saying “today” is not enough to identify the day it applies to.
Keep separate notes for your actual journey: starting point, destination, booking time and any connection you cannot miss. Confirm the service you will use rather than assuming that a headline about one part of Delhi applies everywhere. A railway station, the Metro station bearing a similar name and the road leading to them can each have different arrangements.
If a family member is travelling, share the exact destination and the last information you checked. Save tickets, appointment details and contact information on the device before leaving. Where mobile data is unavailable, an online map or a message may not load when needed. An offline copy is useful preparation, although it does not replace a new instruction from the responsible authority.
Follow on-site directions from staff and authorised officials. A route shown on a navigation app may still lead towards a barrier or a restricted entrance. Do not use a social-media claim as a guarantee of access. If the available notice does not answer your question, contact the service provider using contact details listed on its official website.
FAQ
Is 10 October a complete Delhi bandh?
The material checked does not establish a blanket shutdown of every service. Check the specific market, institution and journey rather than applying one headline to the whole city.
Are all schools closed?
No universal closure is confirmed here. Use the notice from your own school or the responsible education authority.
Are all Delhi markets closed?
The reported NDTA advisory concerns Connaught Place establishments. It should not be extended to every market without a separate source.
Will Metro gates reopen at the earlier reported deadline?
A reported end time is not confirmation that a gate has reopened. Look for the current DMRC notice or instructions from station staff.
Can I rely on an old screenshot?
Only after checking its date, scope and whether a later instruction has replaced it. The newest applicable official notice takes priority.
Information limits
This article separates reported developments from practical guidance. It does not promise that a particular road, shop, gate or service is currently available. Source timestamps matter because arrangements can change during the day. Images are illustrative or explanatory material; they are not copies of an official order or proof of what happened at the protest.
For a booking, deadline or personal legal question, use the relevant official service and the information specific to your case. A general news page cannot establish entitlement to a refund, permission to enter a restricted location or the outcome of a complaint. Unverified claims about automatic reopening, universal closures and final detention totals are not treated as established facts here.
