EVM or ballot paper is an old search that the 2026 SIR row reheated. They are not the same dispute. SIR is the roll. The EVM is the machine. If the name is missing, the voter never reaches the machine.
What is on record
Indian EVMs are attached to a VVPAT slip the voter sees for a few seconds. The Commission says the machine is standalone. The Supreme Court has not ordered a full return to paper ballots. A limited VVPAT count was ordered earlier, not a full slip count at every booth. No court has voided the 2024 election, or later polls, solely as an EVM hack. That is the position on 3 October 2026.
What is not proved
The opposition says both the roll and the machine are captured. A counting mismatch is not automatically a hack. Form 17C, the VVPAT slip and the complaint deadline matter. Paper ballots have their own record of booth capturing. Paper is not pure. The EVM is not guilty by slogan.

If the booth goes wrong, write the Form 17C and VVPAT complaint the same day. If the name was cut in SIR, file Form 6 instead of arguing the machine.
