Who announced the march, and when?

On 30 September 2026 Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the INDIA bloc would hold district marches and demonstrations outside district magistrates’ offices from 2 to 8 October. The name is Save Democracy. The theme is the SIR and vote-chori allegation. The stage is not CJP’s. Some reports called the drive longer. The clearest public window by this article’s date is 2 to 8 October.

Gandhi Jayanti was chosen as the start. The opposition links the vote to a tradition of peaceful protest. The government and the Commission reject the allegation. A march does not prove it.

Why read it apart from CJP and AISA

On 2 October three programmes shared the headlines: AISA and civil society at Jantar Mantar, CJP’s jail-bharo in Mumbai, and the bloc’s district march. Mathrubhumi noted they are separate. Discover readers merge them. Separate links and dates stop bad updates.

CJP set a separate 10 October ultimatum. The bloc’s window was described until 8 October. No joint calendar for 9 and 10 October existed on the morning of 3 October.

What a district march usually is

Workers submit a memorandum, slogans follow, and police look at permission or a prohibitory order. Every district differs. Television will show Delhi and Mumbai. The real count is in the district report. An order in Madhya Pradesh is not a copy of Delhi’s Section 163.

Demands commonly include the CEC’s resignation, a review of SIR and restoration of cut names. The useful part for a voter is the restoration process, not the slogan.

Questions people are asking

Is it one national rally?

No. District marches, not one city stage.

Will Rahul Gandhi be in every district?

No such announcement by this date. National leaders may appear on chosen days. The district event is local.

What happens after 8 October?

Only a fresh bloc announcement extends it. CJP’s 10 October date is not this march’s day.

एडवाइस:

Check your district from a local report, not a Delhi clip. If the memorandum talks about adding names, ask for a copy. Read permission before you go. Do not merge Save Democracy and Jantar Mantar 2.0 in one post. Write the date.

The seven-day map, as far as it is known

2 October was the start. 8 October is the last day of the window Kharge described. District units set the hours in between. A national calendar does not print every district time. In Madhya Pradesh, check Bhopal or Indore from a local office, not from a Delhi clip. Memorandums usually carry three lines: CEC resignation, halt SIR, restore names. The third line is the useful one for a voter. Deccan Chronicle also called the drive longer. That does not cancel the 2 to 8 October window. Later days need a fresh notice. Do not paste CJP’s 10 October date onto this calendar.
