Apple HomeView in India at ₹39,900: what are you buying?
Apple HomeView is no longer only a rumoured product name. Apple announced the device on 13 October 2026. The practical question is whether a home display costing almost ₹40,000 solves a useful problem for your household. The headline price alone cannot answer that: phone compatibility, language and the cost of installing the chosen model also matter.
This guide uses Apple’s India product, store and specifications pages. It is not a hands-on review, a measured audio test or an independent assessment of Siri accuracy. An announced feature and its usefulness in your particular home are separate considerations.
Apple HomeView price in India and availability
The Apple India Store lists the tabletop and wall-mounted devices at ₹39,900 each, with availability from 13 November 2026. An open pre-order page does not mean immediate delivery. Check the estimate for your own address during checkout.
The tabletop colours are silver, starlight, rose pink and space grey; the wall-mounted choices are silver and space grey. Choose the location before the colour. A side table and a hallway wall present different requirements, especially if the nearest suitable power point is inconvenient.
FACT BOX — five checks before payment
- Listed Indian device price: ₹39,900.
- Availability: 13 November; check individual delivery separately.
- Initial Siri AI language support: English.
- Setup needs a compatible iPhone/iPad and Wi-Fi.
- Wall mounting and power accessories need a separate cost check.

Tabletop or wall-mounted: compare the complete cost
The official specifications list a USB-C cable and 30W adapter in the tabletop box. Wall-mounted installation and power accessories are sold separately. Identical device prices therefore do not establish identical ready-to-use costs.
The launch release gives starting prices of ₹6,900 for Schneider Home’s USB-C wall connector and ₹8,900 for its AC wired mount. A ₹14,900 PoE wired option is announced for early 2027. The arithmetic below adds only the device and stated mount; it does not quote labour, wiring or every necessary extra.
| Model / विकल्प | Price / कीमत | Note / ध्यान दें |
|---|---|---|
| Tabletop HomeView | ₹39,900 | Cable and adapter included |
| Wall-mounted device | ₹39,900 | Mount/power items separate |
| USB-C wall connector | From ₹6,900 | Device + mount: from ₹46,800 |
| AC wired mount | From ₹8,900 | Device + mount: from ₹48,800 |
| PoE wired mount | ₹14,900 | Announced for early 2027 |
| PoE price addition | ₹54,800 | Future option; not a complete installation quote |
Before mounting, establish the exact mount, cable routing and power requirements. Use a qualified installer where appropriate rather than improvising electrical work. In rented accommodation, permission for drilling or wiring is a separate issue from the purchase budget.
The display, camera and everyday use
Apple’s specifications list a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, an A18 chip and a 12MP Center Stage camera. Both models require wired power. Do not plan around carrying it between rooms like a battery-powered iPad.
The product page describes music, photos, FaceTime, timers and home controls. A shared screen in a fixed location may be useful to a household, but the value is smaller if its main tasks are already convenient on devices you own. Identify a recurring need rather than simply buying another screen.
For video calls, try the intended viewing distance, lighting and audio in a demonstration. For kitchen use, consider counter space and the screen angle. Manufacturer descriptions of sound do not establish how it will perform in your room; listening before purchase is more informative than judging the speaker from a promotional photograph.
Siri AI: language, Android and personal-context requirements
Apple’s Siri AI page describes the initial English rollout, matching HomeView’s India information. Reading a Hindi explanation of the device is different from the device supporting Hindi voice interaction. If household members are uncomfortable speaking English, test both conversation and touch controls before making language assumptions.
The store FAQ requires an iPhone on iOS 27.2 or an iPad on iPadOS 27.2 for setup. It does not list Android as the setup device. The launch footnote describes Siri AI as beta in HomeView software 27.2. Personal-context Siri has an additional Apple Intelligence-enabled paired-device requirement; owning an older iPhone does not establish that every AI function is supported.
The Apple Intelligence Usage Terms describe possible usage limits and device or regional requirements. The launch footnote also mentions daily limits for certain server-based AI functions and future paid expanded access. This article does not invent a subscription price. Do not assume that a hardware purchase guarantees unlimited access to every AI capability forever.
List the tasks that motivate the purchase: messages, the family calendar, music or timers. Check the exact requirement for the most important task. Answering a general question and finding information in your private calendar are different capabilities; a demonstration of one should not be treated as proof of the other.
Privacy and smart-home compatibility: what to check
Apple’s product FAQ ties access to personal content to face recognition, the paired device and recent unlocking conditions. The company describes separate personal content and Secure Exclaves for camera and microphone processing. These are manufacturer explanations, not the findings of an independent security audit by this publication.
Agree on what the family wants a shared screen to show. Ask how private messages or calendar content behave when guests are nearby. These practical expectations should be examined in a demonstration rather than assumed to be satisfied by the name of a privacy feature.
The Apple Home app page describes compatible accessories and Matter support. That does not mean every existing fan, wall switch, camera or lock can be operated directly. Check each accessory’s exact model, Works with Apple Home/HomeKit/Matter support and any required bridge.
There is no need to replace the whole home to evaluate one useful routine. Choose a realistic task, such as controlling a compatible room light, then compare its complete cost and setup. If camera features are the reason for buying, check the camera and service requirements separately; the display price is not the budget for an entire security system.
ADVICE — a short buying checklist
- Match the exact phone/iPad model, software and required AI compatibility.
- Try the family’s preferred language and main use case in a demonstration.
- Obtain separate costs for the device, mounting and installation.
- Check existing accessory models rather than relying on a generic smart-home label.
- Read the final cart total, subscriptions, warranty and delivery estimate.
