Bulk Find and Replace Text Online – Multiple Words at Once

Change several words or phrases together. Add one find-and-replace pair per rule, paste your text, and get an edited copy with replacement counts.

Bulk find and replace text

Literal text matching. Changes are applied to the original text once, in rule order. Text stays in this browser.

How to use bulk find and replace

  1. Paste the original text.
  2. Fill in Find and Replace with for each rule. Add more rules if needed.
  3. Choose whether to ignore English letter case.
  4. Click Replace text, review the output, then copy it or download TXT.

Example: update a name and a phrase

Start with “Hello Ram. Ram has an old phone.” Add Ram → Sita and old phone → updated phone. The result is “Hello Sita. Sita has an updated phone.” There are three replacements: two names and one phrase.

How rule order works

All rules search the original text in one pass. Replaced text is not searched again. With a → b and b → c, the original “a b” becomes “b c”. At the same starting position, the earlier rule wins. Put a longer, more specific phrase above a shorter overlapping phrase when appropriate. Matches do not overlap.

Useful tasks

Update repeated labels in notes, change several product names in a description, standardize known spelling variants, remove unwanted text, or edit a pasted filename list. This returns text; it does not rename actual files or edit uploaded documents.

What matching includes

This is literal, case-sensitive text matching by default. It can match inside longer words: replacing cat also changes the cat part of catalog. Spaces and punctuation matter. Enable the case option when Apple and apple should match. An empty replacement deletes matched text; an empty Find field is ignored. Dollar signs and regex symbols are treated as ordinary characters.

Use up to 200,000 characters, 20 rules and 200 characters in each rule field. Rule fields are for single-line text. This tool has no regex, whole-word or fuzzy matching mode. Processing runs in your browser without uploading pasted text.

Review before using the output

Check names and partial-word matches. If a rule does nothing, check case, spaces and punctuation. If two rules overlap, move the specific phrase higher. The counter shows matches replaced, including matches whose replacement text is identical. Changing the input or rules clears the previous result.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace several words at once?

Yes. Add a rule for each word or phrase, up to 20 rules.

Does this work with Hindi?

Yes. Hindi, English and emoji are treated as text. Visually similar Unicode spellings may still differ.

Can I delete a word instead of replacing it?

Yes. Leave Replace with blank for that rule. The match is removed, but surrounding spaces remain unless a rule includes them.

Are replacements applied repeatedly?

No. Rules match the original input once. New replacement text is not processed again.

Does it match whole words only?

No. Literal matches may occur inside longer words. Review the output for unintended changes.

Can I use regular expressions?

No. Characters such as dots, brackets and dollar signs are literal text.

Is my text uploaded?

No pasted text is uploaded by this tool. Copy or download your result before leaving the page.
