How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose your HEIC or HEIF photos from your device.
  2. Start with 90 percent JPG quality. Choose 80 for smaller files or 95 for higher quality.
  3. Keep original dimensions, or choose a 2400 px or 1600 px longest side.
  4. Click Convert to JPG. Keep this tab open while the batch finishes.
  5. Check each preview, then download individual JPGs or all successful photos as a ZIP.

Convert multiple iPhone photos in one batch

If you have ten holiday photos that an upload form will not accept, select them together instead of converting each one separately. The result is a genuine JPEG file, rather than a HEIC with a renamed extension. The converter preserves the aspect ratio and does not enlarge smaller photos.

For example, a 4032 × 3024 photo becomes 1600 × 1200 when you choose the 1600 px option. A 640 × 360 photo stays at its original dimensions. Files with the same name receive a numbered suffix so the ZIP does not overwrite them.

Choosing quality and file size

JPEG is lossy. Higher quality usually creates a larger file, but the result depends on the picture and your browser’s encoder. A JPG can be larger than the original HEIC. Try 80 percent quality and smaller dimensions if you need something easier to share.

This converter does not promise an exact KB size. Keep the original HEIC when you need it for further editing. Transparent pixels are placed over white in the JPEG output.

What happens to metadata, HDR and Live Photos?

This version exports one main still image per file. If a HEIF contains multiple images, the decoder selects its primary image, or the first image if no primary image is identified. Extra stills, depth information and Live Photo motion are not included.

The image is exported through an 8-bit browser canvas. HDR, wide-gamut colours and fine detail may look different. Original EXIF data, GPS information and camera tags are not copied into the JPG. Check orientation, colour and the preview before using the result.

Privacy and supported files

Your chosen photos stay in this browser. The decoder is fetched from this website when conversion starts; the photo bytes are not uploaded to a conversion server. Your original files are unchanged. Downloads remain available while this page is open and until you select new files or change options.

Use up to 20 non-empty files, 15 MB per file and 50 MB total. Each source image must be no larger than 24 million pixels, with neither edge above 8192 px. The batch’s successful JPG output is limited to 100 MB. Large images can still use substantial memory, especially on a phone.

If a HEIC photo will not convert

An unsupported codec, damaged file or image above the decoding limit can fail. The error appears beside that file, and the remaining photos can still convert. The ZIP contains successful JPGs only. Reducing the output dimensions does not bypass the source decoding limit.

Try fewer photos in an up-to-date desktop browser if conversion runs slowly. WebAssembly and Web Workers are required. If the decoder cannot load, reload and try again. Cancel discards the batch’s results so you can restart. Simply changing a filename from .heic to .jpg does not convert the photo.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to JPG online?

Select your HEIC photos above, choose quality and dimensions, then click Convert to JPG and download the results.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes. Select up to 20 files within the size limits. Download each JPG or one ZIP containing the successful results.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Conversion runs on your device. This website supplies the decoder, but your selected photo bytes stay in the browser.

Will the JPG keep the original dimensions?

Yes, when you choose Keep original dimensions and the source fits the decoding limits. The smaller presets preserve aspect ratio and never upscale.

Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce quality?

JPEG compression is lossy. HDR and colour rendering can also change. Compare the preview and keep your original file.

Does this keep Live Photos and GPS metadata?

No. This tool exports one still image and does not copy the original EXIF or GPS metadata. Live Photo motion and extra images are excluded.

Why is one photo missing from the ZIP?

Only successfully converted photos are included. Check that file’s error message for a decoding, dimensions or size-limit problem.
